Pre-operatively, the operation, care & outcomes were explained to me by members of the nursing staff, medical & anaesthetics team. Mr Ramamoorthy then checked with me that i had understood everything & gave me opportunity to ask questions. He was calm & respectful which reassured me & gave me trust in him & in the procedure to follow. Post operatively, he explained clearly how the operation had progressed & again sought my opinion, which assured me that i could have every confidence in his ability. Six days post-operatively, i can find no fault & can only be grateful for his expertise.

Mr Ramamoorthy performed an open mesh repair of an inguinal hernia. I had lived with this for far too long, as it ha been growing for some thirty years, and I imagine that it was actually a larger task than I thought. He explained in simple language all he would do, the reasons for this, and the options available, and how he would choose the best procedures for a satisfactory result. All went well, pain was negligible and the result very neat! to say the least I am much more comfortable now. Mr Ramamoorthy explained what I now have to do to ensure that his work is not in vain. His manner was perfect and really put me at ease. I have no hesitation in recommending his care and attention to all his future patients. ( I also heartily commend all the staff at Belford Hospital for their care and friendliness)

I had the misfortune of having an endoscopy yesterday at the Belford Hospital in Fort William. It has to be said, I was dreading it, but from the moment I walked in the door, I was treated with more care, compassion and practical assistance than I have ever experienced in the NHS. The entire team of Elidh, Pauline, Penny, Maria, Kasha, Nikki and of course Raj guided me through this distressing procedure with expert ease and made it possible for me to endure without sedation. I will never forget their collective kindness and support.
